About the Sexworkers Collective
The Sexworkers Collective (SWC) was founded by sex workers in 2021. It was born out of the need to unite, learn from each other and break the isolation.
We are committed to ensuring that the voices of sex workers are heard and included in all decision-making processes that affect our work and our lives (nothing about us without us).
As the SWC, we stand firmly against the attacks of anti-sex work activists, religious fundamentalists and so-called radical feminists – their moralistic campaigns disempower us, ignore the realities of our lives and jeopardise our safety and rights. We don’t need to be rescued, we need rights and the opportunity for self-determination.
The SWC regularly organises events that are open to all current and former sex workers. We create spaces for solidarity, exchange and collective learning.
Among other things, we facilitate workshops on the topic of stigma, take part in panel discussions and network with supporting organisations.
