Requests from pupils, students, and researchers
We are repeatedly asked for interviews or support with theses, research projects, and similar work. While we understand the general interest in sex work, we also have critical views about it. Our resources are limited, and we primarily use them to strengthen our own community.
This article – Why You Shouldn’t Study Sex Work – clearly explains the issues that arise when non–sex-working people attempt to study us.
When we say “nothing about us without us,” we mean more participation than merely being the interview subject once the concept is already set. If you are seeking a truly collaborative process, one that takes place on equal footing and where sex workers are compensated for their contribution, you are welcome to present your project to us.
We also recommend attending the consultation hours offered by FIZ or the Q&A sessions by Isla Victoria.
