Mission Statement

The principal goal of the Sex Workers Collective is to build and cherish a network among workers of the sex industry. A community through which sex workers can escape isolation, connect and support each other. It is an aim of the community to create a space where sharing skills and learning from each other is possible and endorsed.

Sex work is work – We advocate for labour rights in the sex industry. SWC endorses decriminalisation of sex work and in the same time the fight against the (internal and external) stigma which sticks to this specific work field. It is also harmful to criminalize or stigmatize us indirectly, e.g.: client criminalization (Nordic Model). We strongly disagree with any form of criminalisation as this opposes the fight for better working conditions and makes our work more difficult and dangerous.

Like any other labour, work in the sex industry is in most cases done due to economical reasons. Some people find fullfillment in their work, while for others it is just a way to earn a living. We aspire that in the cases where work choices are made because of a lack of better options, each worker can organize their conditions in a self determined way.

We advocate for sex workers’ voices to be heard and included in all decision-making processes that affect our work and lives(nothing about us without us).
